Blue Lobster is a potent hybrid cannabis strain that became a cult favourite on the US East Coast: unusual in a market where almost every sought-after cut comes out of California.

Genetics and History

The best-documented account is that Blue Lobster is the Maine Trees selection of a Compound Genetics cross of Apples and Bananas with Eye Candy, also known as Facade. A second source credits Cipher Genetics with the original cross and Maine Trees with hunting, naming and popularising it. Further back the family includes GSC, Master Kush and The White.

Other sites give Blueberry-based parentage: one proposing classic Blueberry with a lesser-known sativa, another listing a Blueberry and OG Kush version. Those almost certainly describe different breeders' plants sold under the same name rather than the Maine Trees original, since several seed companies list their own Blue Lobster with contradictory indica/sativa splits.

Reported ranges are wide: 20% to 26% from grow guides and seed listings, 25% to 35% from one review with recent batches around 29%, and 26% to 30% from a grow database. The commercial Maine Trees cut sits most often in the 25% to 30% band, which is where this listing's 28% falls.
