What THCa Diamonds Are
Diamonds are cannabinoid crystals. The extraction-equipment maker ExtraktLAB describes them as made of nearly pure THCA crystals, at purities it puts between 96 and 99.9 per cent. THCA is the acid form of THC found in the plant; it is not intoxicating until heat converts it into THC.
How Diamonds Form
Diamonds come from live resin. Left to rest for several weeks, sometimes months, the resin separates: the cannabinoids crystallise and settle at the bottom as diamonds, while a syrupy, terpene-rich liquid rises to the top. That liquid is terp sauce, and the two together, diamonds in their sauce, are sold as caviar.
Commercial producers can also isolate and crystallise THCA directly, using extraction, refining and vacuum ovens.
