Orange Apricot

Orange Apricot is an indica-dominant cannabis strain built around stone fruit and citrus, crossing Orange Juice with Apricot Helix. It is the parent of several better-known descendants, which is part of why the name appears more often than the strain itself does on menus.

Genetics and History

Leafly lists the cross as Orange Juice by Apricot Helix. The name has since been attached to a family of derivatives: Legend Orange Apricot is Legend OG crossed with Orange Apricot, bred by Capulator, Obsoul33t and Compound Genetics, and Compound's Apricot OG descends from High Octane OG and a Legend Orange Apricot F2.

If you are comparing products, note that Legend Orange Apricot is a different strain rather than a synonym. We list it separately.

Potency

Leafly does not publish a figure, saying only that Orange Apricot is higher in THC than average. One strain guide reports total THC commonly between 18% and 26%, with occasional results above 28% in well-tuned grows, but that guide is vague about where its numbers come from.

We have listed 22% as a working midpoint of the range that is reported, not as a measured value. The lab report for whatever you are buying is the only figure that describes it.

Aroma and Flavour

Sweet orange zest over ripe apricot, which is unusually literal for a strain name. Limonene is the terpene most associated with the citrus top note.

Reported Effects

Leafly describes the effects as mostly energizing, though user reviews are mixed, which is common for a strain classified as indica-dominant but reported as stimulating. Those two things sitting in tension is itself worth knowing: the category label and the reported experience do not always agree, and the label is the less reliable of the two.

Growing Notes

A photoperiod plant of moderate difficulty with medium yields. Because several breeders have worked with similar parent lines, descriptions of individual cuts vary.
