Guava

A Gelato Phenotype, or a Stardawg Cross

Guava is reported two ways and we have not found a source that resolves it.

The more common account makes it a phenotype of Gelato #33 selected by Sherbinskis, which would make it a selection rather than a cross. A second account describes it as indica-leaning and connected to Stardawg. A third describes Guava IX specifically as Guava crossed with Stardawg, which would make Guava the parent rather than the product of that cross.

The accounts are not compatible, and the sources carrying them are retail listings rather than breeder documentation.

Do Not Confuse It With Guava Tartz

Guava Tartz is a separate plant: Apple Tartz crossed with Crockett’s Dawg, from Crockett Family Farms, listed around 19% THC. The names are close and the genetics are unrelated.

Potency

One listing gives 20% to 24% THC with CBD under 1%. That is a single commercial source and should be read as a range a seller is comfortable advertising, not a measurement.

Flavour

Tropical fruit is the consistent note across every description, over the sweet, creamy character that would be expected if the Gelato account is the right one. That consistency is the strongest argument for the Gelato lineage, though it is circumstantial rather than evidence.

Why This Page Exists

Three strains we publish name Guava as a parent, including Guava Chem and Grape Guava.
