What Terp Sauce Is
Terp sauce, or high terpene full spectrum extract (HTFSE), is a concentrate made to keep terpenes in high concentration. Its consistency is like an oil, a sauce or a resin. Terpenes are the compounds behind each strain's smell and taste, so sauce is bought for flavour first.
How Terp Sauce Forms
Sauce comes from live resin left to rest for several weeks. The cannabinoids crystallise and settle at the bottom as diamonds, and a syrupy liquid forms on top: the sauce. Sold together, diamonds in their sauce are called caviar.
Sauce also turns up blended into other products. The Ontario Cannabis Store gives the example of pre-rolls filled with kief combined with terp sauce.

How People Use Terp Sauce
Like live resin, terp sauce is dabbed or vaporized in a concentrate vaporizer. Dabbing gives strong, immediate effects and is not recommended for anyone new to cannabis.
Terp Sauce and Strength: What to Watch
Sauce is a concentrate, and concentrates commonly pass 50 per cent THC. Health Canada advises new and occasional users to avoid high-THC extracts. Start with a very small amount and wait at least two hours before taking more.
